What data, why, and on what legal basis

  • Goodies orders — name, delivery address, email, phone number if provided, order contents, payment data (processed by the payment provider, never stored by us). Purpose: production, shipping, order tracking and customer service. Basis: performance of the contract.
  • Club des Dessinateurs subscription — the same data, plus payment history. Purpose: managing the subscription, shipping the magazine and customer service. Basis: performance of the contract.
  • Customer account — email and account information. Purpose: access to your account. Basis: performance of the contract.
  • Newsletter — email address and language. Purpose: sending tutorials, news and release announcements. Basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link.
  • Audience measurement — browsing data. Purpose: understanding and improving how the website is used. Basis: consent collected through the cookie banner.
  • Embedded videos and Amazon links — the YouTube player and affiliate links may set trackers. Basis: consent.
  • Accounting obligations — invoices and payment records. Basis: legal obligation.

We do not sell your personal data.

Recipients

Your data is only shared with the service providers we need: Shopify (website hosting, payment, orders, emails), our partner workshop for the production and shipping of goodies (name, delivery address and order contents), the subscription management app, the magazine printer and carrier, Microsoft (Clarity, audience measurement), Google (YouTube), the affiliate link redirection service, and Amazon when you click through to its website.

Transfers outside the European Union

Some providers are located outside the EU (Canada, United States) or ship from facilities outside the EU. These transfers are covered by a European Commission adequacy decision (Canada; companies certified under the Data Privacy Framework for the United States) or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Retention periods

  • Customer and subscriber data: for the duration of the relationship, then 3 years for marketing
  • Invoices and accounting records: 10 years
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, or 3 years without interaction
  • Trackers: 13 months maximum; your cookie choice is kept for 6 months

Cookies

Non-essential cookies (audience measurement, videos, affiliation) are only set with your consent, which you can change at any time through the cookie banner; refusing is as easy as accepting.

Children

The books are also for children, but purchases and the subscription are intended for adults. Children under 15 may only subscribe to the newsletter with the consent of a parent or guardian. A parent may request the deletion of their child's data at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to, restrict and port your data, to withdraw your consent at any time, and to set instructions for your data after your death. To exercise these rights: dessinfacile.contact@gmail.com (reply within one month). You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr) or with the data protection authority of your country.
